Sette, Vino Rosato, Nizza Monferatto, Italy 2020
Sette means “seven” – it’s a story of 3 friends, who wanted make wines in their local area of Nizza Monferrato in Veneto – wines that are spontaneous, natural and a joy to drink. Their unconventional approach means that the wines fall outside of local wine regulations so the grape varieties aren’t written on the label, nor where they come from.
These wines are expressive, youthful and full of energy – made from organic grapes, with spontaneous fermentation on indigenous yeasts and designed for drinking young, with friends or simple food, these are what summer’s all about.
“This rosé is a fresh, fruity and lively wine, made from 15-year old Barbera vines, harvested specifically to produce this wine and vinified by direct pressing, without maceration, fermented and aged on the lees in a small steel vat left outside the wine cellar. Subtle colour and structure to bring out the full-flavoured notes typical of the Nizza Monferrato area. Bottled at the end of the winter and kept in the bottle a few months before it goes on sale. Pink and perky as the mullet on the label…” from their website
