Principio Moristel 2020, Bodegas Pirineos, Somontano, Spain
Moristel is a little-known Spanish red grape variety, mainly found in the region of Aragon and is one of the authorised varieties of the Somontano DO, in north eastern Spain, inland from Barcelona. It has a ripe red and black fruit profile, but the high altitude means there is a lip-smacking freshness overall. Brilliant value!
“Lively fresh damson and blackcurrant fruits with a nice seam of acidity and light tannins on the finish. This would go nicely with charcuterie, risotto primavera or spring green vegetables. ”
