Claus Preisinger ‘Kalkundkiesel’ 2019
“60% Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), 30% Grüner Veltliner, 10% Chardonnay barrel aged. From two sites one chalk limestone and the other peebles (keisel).
This skin contact white wine could be considered an orange wine but light orange. But not light on unique character. Cloudy, orange tinged golden color. Sea salt, minerals, acetone, clarified butter, meyer lemon and citrus blossom aromas lead to a supple mouthfeel with notes of lanolin, lemon pith and peel, yellow spices, dusty earth, blond tobacco and vermouth like botanical herbs and bitters.” Europa Wine Merchant
