Milan Nestarec ‘Forks & Knives’
We got our hands on a few bottles of this thirst quenching Pinot Noir from Moravia in Czech Republic. Fruit comes from young Pinot Noir vines grown on loess soils, preserving freshness and excellent acidity. Softly extracted after only 3 days on skins and very little pigeage. Aging is done half in concrete and half in used oak barrels for about 13 months. Somewhat reminiscent of German Spätburgunders, Forks & Knives comes through with plenty of crunchy red berries and cherries, underlined by vivid acidity and touch of chalky mineral.
