Martín Berdugo Crianza, Ribera Del Duero
A bold, oaked Spanish red from the Ribera del Duero appellation in north west Spain. 100% tempranillo.
Opulent nose with forest fruits, tobacco, liquorice and leather notes. The palate is well-structured and full, with smooth, ripe tannins and well-integrated oak tones. Excellent length with persistent fruit intensity.
The crianza spends one year in oak and one in bottle before release. Martín Berdugo use 90% new American oak, and 10% new French oak.
A young, dynamic winery founded in 1990 by Josefina Martín Berdugo in the heart of Ribera del Duero in the wine region of Castilla y Leon in north west Spain. The winery is now run by her son, the charismatic Antonio Díez Martín. The wine style is decidedly modern, with plenty of pure, ripe fruit, but with a nod to the traditional in the use of American oak.
