“Just In” Case
We have new and exciting wines arriving to the shop every week!
You’ll always hear “this is just in!” from the team, as Dave buys new wines regularly from our suppliers, who always have their finger on the pulse. You can get a taste of what’s new on the Irish wine scene with our “Just In Case” and explore the latest wines from our favourite artisan wine producers.
Mas Coutelou, Couleurs Réunies 2018, Languedoc, France 13%
A field blend mix of red and white organically grown grapes rom the Languedoc in France’s warm south, this juicy and bright red undergoes minimal intervention in the winery and is unfined and unfiltered. Expect a mouthful of vibrant red fruit flavours.
Stefano Amerighi, La Botte Secréte 2016, Tuscany, Italy (certified Organic) 13.5%
Amerighi Stefano (with the Vin des Potes project) work with biodynamic grapes from local small producers in Tuscany to make this Sangiovese based wine. De-stemmed grapes are slightly crushed before spontaneous wild yeast fermentation in small concrete tanks, followed by a long maceration. The resulting wine is medium bodied, full flavoured and silky in texture.
Dominó, Foxtrot 2018, Portugal 12%
A blend of red and white grapes from Alentejo in the south of the country, whole bunches are crushed and undergo a short maceration before fermentation with native yeasts. Aged for 1 year in old French barriques – a delicate, vibrant and delicious red, with a touch of minerality.
El Oso Y La Alemana, Toro, Spain 14.5%
A biodynamic red produced from Garnacha and Tina de Toro (a.k.a. Tempranillo) grapes, by a tiny, quality-focussed, family business in Toro. This red is a delight to drink – expressive, juicy and refreshing, it’s charming and so drinkable.
Domaine Larue, Les Buées 2018, Bourgogne Cote d’Or, France 13%
We were so excited to find this wine! It is a classic expression of good white Burgundy, at a very reasonable price. You’ll find toasty wood, ripe orchard fruits and the creamy minerality that top Burgundy delivers… keep it in mind for your Christmas table!
Monte dei Roari, Custoza, 2019, Boscaroi, Italy (certified Organic) 12.5%
Close to Lake Garda, the white wines of Custoza are somewhat unknown and often under-appreciated. This biodynamic wine from mainly Garganega, the grape of Soave, has lovely minerality and depth of flavour – a great segueway white to take you from summer to autumn.
