Grgich Hills Estate, Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
Mike Grgich was the man behind the surprise American win at the celebrated “Paris Tasting” of 1976. At this historic event, a panel of French judges blind tasted an array of white burgundies of France and some Chardonnays from Napa Valley. The chosen winner was a 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay, a wine crafted by Mike Grgich. In 1977 Grgich Hills Estate was created with partner Austin Hills. It has gone on to become one of those iconic Estates consistently producing world-class wines but done in a sustainable way with organic certification.
A luscious Bordeaux blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with a dash of Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
We advise you to decant this wine to show the breeding of the estate and quality of winemaking on display. The palate has the weight and density of a traditional Napa Cabernet with really plush fruit and a satisfying amount of structure. It’s driven by pure dark fruits, with a good weight and an impressive finish.
We have limited availably of this elegant, power-horse Cabernet from Napa Valley. So be sure to grab it while stocks last.
