Granito Cru, Encruzado, Dão, Portugal 2020
This is the first vintage of this brilliant wine from Luis Seabra, who gets better every year and is a favourite producer at Green Man Wines. This Encruzado, with some small amounts of Sercial and Bical, grapes grown in the high altitude granite soils off the Serra da Estrela Mountain, in the village of Vila Nova de Tazém. The wine was native fermented and aged for 1 year in 500 L used barrels, and then into stainless for 6 months prior to bottling. is made in a Burgundian style (Luis is a big fan of white Burgundy) and it’s big, rich, full and expressive, with a backbone of minerality. We loved it!
