Garcia Georgieve. Clarete, Ribera del Duero 2019
Tempranillo & local field grapes- organic and biodynamic principles
Clarete is a blend of red and white grapes and a very old, traditional wine making style, which has seen a come-back in the last few years. For this wine, the grapes are pressed and fermented before undergoing a time in old Bordeaux barrels, where the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.
It’s quite a bright, ruby colour andis fragrant on the nose, featuring wild red berries, shrubbery and pine with a creamy touch from the malo. It’s fresh, lightweight and very fruity. Tannins are light and spicy – it’s a brilliant and versatile wine for food, including pizza, pasta, charcuterie and BBQ meats.
