Domaine de Gramenon, Côtes du Rhone, “Poignee de Raisins”
Organic and Biodynamic
“A delicious wine with layers of perfectly ripe fleshy red fruit, perked up by a fine acidity. Medium to full bodied, rounded and brimming with flavour. Serve with a really good burger or a lamb braise” – John Wilson, The Irish Times, October 2020
This 2019 ‘Poignee de Raisins’, is a grenache-based wine from vines between 4 and 30 years old. Highly regarded wine-maker, Michèle Aubèry-Laurent together with her son, Maxime François, manages the domaine’s 26 hectares of vineyards. They employ organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard and in the cellar the grapes are partially destemmed and aged for 6 months in cement tank before bottling. A minimum of sulphur is added.
This Côte du Rhone has bright red fruits and subtle herbal notes alongside a distinctive freshness and purity one would expect from this Domaine. A pure pleasure.
