Claire Naudin, Ladoix 1er Cru, La Corvée, 2017 Magnum
New to Green Man Wines, we are delighted to offer a range of Claire Naudin’s wines. We have many more in the shop, so please pop in or ring for details.
Claire took over her parent’s estate in 1994. Its located in an under the radar spot in Burgundy where Hautes Côte de Beaune meets Hautes Côtes de Nuits. A small estate of 22 hectares, it includes some prestigious parcels in Echezeaux, Ladoix and Nuist St-George. Estate wines are bottled under the family name Henri Naudin Ferrand and under her own name, Claire Naudin. Each wine in the Clare Naudin range very much reflects the wine making philosophy of Naudin, which is working as natural and sustainable as possible thus avoiding chemicals in the vineyard and where possible in the cellar .
The Ladoix appellation lies within the Cote de Beaune growing area yet juxtaposes with the Cote de Nuits area to the north. A less well know appellation it has 11 premier cru sites including La Corvée. Vinification includes natural whole bunch fermentation and maturation in oak barrels of which 83% are new. The wine presents rich and fresh red fruits combined with a hint of wood and a smooth, silky texture.
A classy Ladoix Premier Cru, ready to drink but with good ageing potential.
