Antoine Bouvet, Champagne, 2015
Antoine Bouvet works 5ha of vines across the villages of Mareuil-sur-Ay, Avenay Val d’Or and Bisseuil, an area that sits on the border of the Valée de la Marne and the Montagne de Reims. The domaine was founded by Antoine’s grandfather, Guy, in the 1970 and the majority of the selection massale vines were planted in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. The labels are a testament to the close bond between them.
The 2015 is a long-lived wine of great energy and precision and is made up of 50% pinot noir and 50% chardonnay. Since taking over sole management, chemical herbicides have been totally abandoned in favour of a shift to organic and biodynamic principles in the vineyards. Low production of about 600 bottles, minimal dosage at 2g/L
