SOLD OUT – Wine Dinner with Eduard Tseppe and Stephanie Tseppe-Eselböck of Gut Oggau
January 21 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm$65.00
Wow, what a pleasure it will be to welcome the charming and debonair couple, Eduard Tseppe and Stephanie Tseppe-Eselbock of Gut Oggau to Green Man Wines this January! In a little over ten years, Gut Oggau has become an international hit and one of the most talked about (for the right reasons) estates in the natural wine canon. The couple bought the abandoned and dilapidated 17th century estate and winery in 2007 . Because the vineyards hadn’t been farmed in over twenty years, they were able to begin farming biodynamically from the outset and the wines are clean-cut examples of the best type of low-intervention wine-making. The focus is on producing terroir-driven field blends of the locally-grown grape varieties: Blaufrankish, Zweigelt Grüner Veltliner, Welchriesling, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), and Gewurtzraminer. When the Tseppes began to work with the wines in the cellars, each wine seemed to brim with a distinct personality, so they began to bottle them individually, each with its own personification. These personages were brought to life by artist Jung von Matt and the artwork has received recognition internationally, including being part of an exhibition entitled ‘How Wine Became Modern” in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) San Francisco.
A special menu will be served on the evening to complement the wines.
