Jamsheed ‘Seville’ Syrah

Jamsheed ‘Seville’ Syrah

54.95

“Sourced from the Syme Vineyard nestled in the foothills of the cool southern vales of the Yarra Valley, where the grey loam soils show seams of deep red volcanic clay. The 2013 Seville Syrah was handpicked, fermented with a high proportion of whole bunches for 40 days and no additions other than a small amount of sulfur dioxide at picking and bottling. It was then aged in older French barrels before being bottled unfiltered and unfined. There is a ubiquitous amaro character to this site and low SO2 and high whole bunch really brings it out. It is a taste of St. Joseph in the Yarra. Bright purple. Explosively perfumed aromas of red and dark berries, Asian spices, minerals and incense. Deeply concentrated black raspberry and cassis flavors show very good energy and focus thanks to juicy acidity and a core of minerality. Nicely racy, focused wine with pure dark fruit qualities carrying through a long, sappy finish.” Vine St. Imports
